PolyPhaser’s line of fiber enclosures and interconnect products is now expanding to include a robust line of passive fiber optic wave division multiplexing filters and test access points.
New passive fiber optic multiplexers do not require external power and are used to combine or split multiple signals over different wavelengths. The combining of signals of different wavelengths is known as “wavelength division multiplexing” (WDM). Products include multiplexers, demultiplexers (for splitting of signals), and optical add-drop multiplexers (OADM) for adding or removing a subset of signals.
WDM technology is available in both Coarse Wavelength Division Multiplexing (CWDM) and Dense Wavelength Division Multiplexing (DWDM) technologies.
The new PolyPhaser WDM products are available in multiple channel counts and configurations – with packaging options for rack-mounting, as well as deployments in enclosures, splice trays, and other enclosure types.
In addition to CWDM and DWDM passive filters, passive Test Access Points (TAPs) are now available. These TAPs allow for precise splits to be made on fiber links and allow the user to connect in-service links to test equipment, network monitoring devices, or secondary paths. Fiber TAPs are available in various split ratios, in several mechanical configurations and connector types.
These products are complementary to PolyPhaser’s fiber enclosures and fiber interconnect products. The products address fiber to the antenna (FTTA), fiber distribution networks, and ever-growing high-speed voice, video and data center applications.
