PolyPhaser | Transtector will present during the RSSI 50th Annual C&S Exhibition. Speaker Jason Mies is presenting railroad site protection systems with emphasis on protecting sensitive Positive Train Control (PTC) electronics.
Mies, an expert in Surge Protection for the Rail and Transit industry, works closely with engineers across the U.S to provide reliable and accurate information used to keep surge protection specifications updated, and also provides guidance on selecting appropriate protection, proper installation and industry standards.
PTC is designed to provide safety by eliminating the elements of human error in responding to communication signals sent by wayside systems mandated by the US Rail Safety Improvement Act. Each PTC system will require surge protection for the sensitive electronics that are used in PTC.
“In order for PTC to deliver on its promise to provide safety and efficiency for US railroads surge protection technology will be further incorporated into the railroad networks. We are pleased to provide support to RSSI on PTC surge protection and look forward to working with our rail customers and partners in a collaborative effort to meet PTC requirements”, said Jim Nelson Vice President of Sales for PolyPhaser/Transtector.
